Neil had finally retrieved the briefcase that had started this whole mess. He had been given a short tutorial on how to use it and was finally returned to a normal size. After a gleeful reunion with Sarah he looked at the briefcase's controls again and noticed... an area of effect setting? That's probably what shrunk the whole neighborhood to start with! Neil realized that he could probably use it to reverse everything as well.
Never considering that the opposite of a shrink ray would be a growth beam, Neil activated the device again and was shocked to find himself (alongside his girlfriend, her mother, and her mother's friend) towering over the neighborhood like a colossus.
