Hank Pym (also known as Ant-Man), with help from Janet Van Dyne (alias the Wasp), was working on a new device to harness the potential growth properties of Pym particles in his lab at the Avengers Mansion.
Everything was working as calculated until an unforeseen error occurred, causing the device to overheat and malfunction. Hank managed to shut down the device but not before it shot a discharge on enlarging Pym particle energy that ricochet and escaped his lab.
Checking to see what caused the malfunction, Hank and Jan heard a crashing noise and some screaming. Shrinking down, they headed towards the Mansion's kitchen.
There they found Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and She-Hulk (who were having breakfast at the time) were now growing in size.
Hank mused 'There must have been a discharge of particles... I can fix this.'
Jan turned to Hank and jokingly replied ' You know, Tony did say the Avengers needed to be Bigger.'
