A passage from chapter XX, "History", in Book of Storm, the holy text of the Church of Ororo on Earth-959:
With her grand crusade against the last of Dominion-level interstellar intelligence, elder gods, and other annoying troublemakers that sought to interfere in her rightful rule of the universe, our beloved God-Empress Storm sought rest from her divine duties.
But for an all-mighty goddess, a simple excursion to the beach or visiting the most beautiful cities of her empire would not suffice, as she was already omnipresent in all locations of all existence simultaneously. Instead, she sought a new playground, that of history. Thanks to her awesome omnipotent powers, the entirety of time was for Goddess Storm to play with, from the beginning of the universe, to its eventual end. She was able to alter the flow of time with ease, so little things such as paradoxes or time anomalies matter nothing to our God-Empress.
In her incursion across time, our Goddess would assume numerous identities fitting the historical era she visited. During the first dynasty of ancient Egypt, she was known as Pharoh Cleororopatra the Magnificent, the queen of queens and the great builder of the kingdom capital Ashake, the world's first city in history with millions of inhabitants.
At the time of the Edo Period in Japan, there were stories of Yuki No Tategami, a mysterious white-haired, dark-skinned ronin who defended the innocent from the deadly ninjas of The Hand.
Victorian London knew our Goddess as Lady Ro, a gentlewoman adventurer and explorer of the unknown, delighting the public with her tales of discovering lost civilizations and taming giant monsters.
And to America, just shortly after World War II, she was rising Hollywood starlet Windy Munroe, beloved for her seductive stage presence and singing voice, while also harboring a dark secret she would do anything to keep under control with the help of a rugged, yet easily manipulated, private detective.
Those were only a fraction of the identities God-Empress Storm would adopt in her various time-travel vacations. Other notable roles included pirate queen Tempest and her mutant crew of the ship Weather Witch, golden age superheroine Omni-Woman who fought forces of Hydra alongside Captain America, Nubian warrior N'Daré, who gained fame in the gladiatorial arenas of the Roman Empire, and Styrma, the queen of the frost giant who had a forbidden love affair with the Asgardian thunder god Thor, her people's ancient and most powerful enemy.
All those stories happened. they are part of the grand history of civilization on Earth. As for us mortals, history means the story of us through the long march of time, but for our God-Empress Storm, it means a playing field full of endless possibility for her enjoyment.
