Exposure to the gamma growth ray had caused both the original Hulk and the Red Hulk to grow bigger and angrier than ever before - but when She-Hulk and Red She-Hulk were exposed to the ray tin an attempt to stop the rampaging Hulks, they themselves grown even bigger (although they were overcome by an entirely different emotion). The villainous Absorbing Man - having seen the effect on the She-Hulks grabbed the beam and used it on his girlfriend Titania - but his mishandling of the controls caused a massive overload through the ray.
